Intervention research in health is on the rise…. more and more research teams are engaging in analyses of health interventions from an interdisciplinary perspective and using mixed methods. However, we note that economics is still somewhat on the sidelines of these approaches to the evaluation of interventions and public policies in the health field. Challenges of collaboration, of understanding, of opportunity, of dialogue? After presenting the concept of intervention research, I will use empirical examples of my collaborations over the last 15 years in global health with researchers in economics to show how this interdisciplinary dialogue can be relevant and fruitful for understanding interventions.
