Antoine Germain, AMSE tenure-track assistant professor, is the winner of the prestigious EALE Young Labour Economist Award, presented by the European Association of Labour Economists.
He is recognized for his research paper entitled “Working time reductions and monopsony power.” His work examines the impact of the 1910 law introducing a nine-hour workday in Belgian coal mines. By combining a solid theoretical framework with compelling empirical evidence in a rich historical setting, his study sheds new light on employer monopsony power and working time regulation.
A well-deserved distinction honoring the excellence of his research in labour economics.
